Just stop for a second, take a look at yourself. Take a look at everyone and everything around you, everything you’ve got, everything you’ve accomplished, everything you’ve got going for you, and everything you’ve got to look forward to. The awkward stages of adolescence come with more ups and downs than what the average human beings could consider themselves capable of. Your teenage years are going to mess you around, bring fresh tears to your eyes every night, and leave you speechless and disappointed more than any boy could ever accomplish. They’re going to break you, shatter the peace created in your younger days, and then they’re going to start rebuilding you slowly. Your teenage years are going to end up defining you. Your heart is going to be broken, your jean size will go up and down, your skin will clear out, your going to be grounded, your going to run out of money, your going to get absolutely hammered and let your heart out, on several occasions actually. Your going to cry yourself to sleep every once in a while and your going to wish more than anything for the seemingly unavoidable pain to disperse and for that promised better day to come. And it will. You’re going to wake up one day and realize how little you actually care. How little you actually care what he thinks, how irrelevant that entire group of bitching girls is, how many friends you may or may not have, how much you owe your parents, and how strong a person you turned out to be. You’re going to realize that you don’t need anything you thought you did, that the person you spent hours crying about isn’t even going to cross your mind one day. The fight you had with your best friend yesterday is going to be forgotten within a week and the mistake you made is going to be brushed off and learnt from soon enough too. You are going to realize that you don’t need anybody that made you feel worthless for even a second, that you’re absolutely perfect just the way you are and that you never even lost friends, you just found the real ones. You’re gonna look in the mirror at some point and stop hating yourself for the way you look, stop commanding yourself to change and finally accept that you’re pretty perfect the way you are. You’re going to realize that you have the perfect amount of people that care in your life, that you’re never lonely, just independent. You’re not stupid, you’re not ugly, and you’re not worthless. You’re going to know that you don’t need to have it together at every second of the day, and you’re still going to have those moments where you crash and burn. But you’re also going to know that misery never sticks around unless you invite it to stay. So stop complaining, stop worrying and just get on with your life. Look forward to all the good that’s left to come, every smile, every cuddle and every memory that you’re going to gain. Be excited to find the person to share those moments with and be willing to accept that you’ll find them at just the right moment. Just understand that your teenage years aren’t going to last forever, that you’re not always going to be able to move forward this fast, and just dear god make the most of what’s right here right now.
